Beauty Quotes to live by, laugh and love

Here are a few more quotes I’ve collected lately and I wanted to share them with my readers!
“She got her good looks from her father - he’s a plastic surgeon.” — Groucho Marx
Krizia’s banter: I cannot say that I know much about Groucho Marx (American comedian part of the Marx Brothers, born in 1890), but I find it interesting that a comedian who became hugely popular at the beginning of the last century could have even come up with a joke that’s much more suited (in my opinion) to the this new age of popularization of all things related to cosmetic enhancement and plastic surgery!
“The ideal of beauty is simplicity and tranquility.” — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Krizia’s banter: I really could not agree with Goethe. I feel the prettiest when I feel tranquil inside. Those are days where a little mascara and a little gloss is all I need because I’m just glowing from the inside out.
“The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.” — Muhammad Ali
Krizia’s banter: There are so many people who never undertake the journey of nourishing their mind and their soul and you quickly realize when talking to them (even briefly) that nothing about them has changed in all the years you’ve known them. This hits home even more when you’ve lost touch with people and find them again and in a flash you come to the realization that you’ve evolved and they haven’t!
“The essence of the beautiful is unity in variety.” — Felix Mendelssohn
Krizia’s banter: In my option this quote is all about celebrating beauty in all of its forms and not just one standard idea of beauty!
“The criterion of true beauty is that it increases on examination; if false, that it lessens.” — Lord Greville
Krizia’s banter: This takes a couple of reads before truly being able to appreciate this powerful quote. Lord Greville hit the nail on the head: true beauty increases as you observe an object or as you get to know a person. Fleeting beauty becomes uglier and uglier as you get to know a person or as you really take time to look at an object.
“The beauty that addresses itself to the eyes is only the spell of the moment; the eye of the body is not always that of the soul.” — George Sand
Krizia’s banter: Could George Sand be saying that beauty solely designed for the eye is short lived?
