Product Review – Princereigns Ingrown Hair Serum & Bump Fighter
Quick, name the worst part about shaving your underarms and bikini line? That’s right, the razor bumps. Those irritated red bumps that make it impossible to achieve smooth, beautiful skin.
Ever thought about what causes them? Well, those bumps are the result of an irritated hair follicle. Unfortunately, what we want as women is a super-close shave. However, going against the grain of the hair and cutting it as short as possible makes it difficult for the hair to grow back in a natural, healthy way. The sharp ends of the hair often pierce through the skin in a separate area, causing inflammation, or can’t break through at all and grow in another direction, causing an ingrown hair.
So, what’s a girl to do? If you’re like me, you’ve tried everything to calm the bumps. Tend Skin burned like crazy, Whish’s Bump Fighter soothed the skin, but didn’t get rid of the bumps, and so I’ve been left with my trusty cortisone cream just to soothe the irritation and stop the itching while the bumps gradually clear up on their own (if I stop shaving for a while).
But about a year ago I heard about this new product on Oprah. It’s called Princereigns, an ingrown hair serum that works to stop the bumps on both women and men. So, when My Beauty Bunny received a sample to try, I couldn’t wait to start shaving.
And the verdict? It works! It’s not magic. There are a still bumps here and there, but these sensitive areas are so much better than they were before. After applying it for a few days between shaves, I only had about one or two bumps that cleared up quickly. I did have a couple of ingrown hairs along my bikini line, but that was my fault for not using the product every day.
How does it work? Plain and simple: Glycolic Acid. This trusted Alpha Hydoxy Acid has the power to keep the pores clear by helping the skin to shed itself quickly. By doing so, the hair doesn’t get blocked by anything as it tries to make its way out of the pore and thus doesn’t irritate the skin.
Now, I thought that because of the Glycolic Acid, it would sting to apply it right after shaving, but it has some amazing skin-soothing ingredients to prevent that from happening, including Lavender, Sage and Chamomile. The only time it did sting a little was if I had cut myself while shaving.
This serum also claims to lighten hyperpigmentation, or in other words those dark spots from the previous bumps and ingrowns you’ve had in the past. I have yet to see these results, but it’s because I have only been applying for a few days after shaving instead of morning and night every day like the product instructs. Glycolic Acid is known to lighten skin discolorations, so I believe this result is very possible.
For those of you who are waxers, this product works for you too. As you know, waxing often leads to ingrown hairs. So, even if the skin hasn’t been irritated by a razor, the bumps still come as the new hairs grow back and unsuccessfully try to make their way out of the pores. Applying this product daily after waxing will keep the pores clear for the hairs to grow out of.
As far as results on men, I’m not sure. My husband has super-sensitive skin, so he only shaves with mini clippers, preventing irritation by never cutting the hair below the skin’s surface. This has been the only way he can handle a shave. But if your man has a hard time with bumps and ingrowns, definitely share the love with this product. I’m sure it would do the trick.

3 Medicine Chest Beauty Tips
You, most likely, aren’t going to be looking in your medicine cabinet for beauty tips and tricks. But, what you find will probably amaze you. There are many spa-quality treatments in your own medicine chest.
For example, consider your complexion. Does a gigantic pimple pop up every time you have a really big date? If so, then your skin is reacting to stress. Visiting a spa is the best way to get a facial. Nonetheless, these can cost you over 100 dollars. They can also take up a lot of your time. Alternatively, you can put a dab of hydrocortisone cream (for rashes and poison ivy) to the pimple. Put some on in the morning and it will dramatically fade by that night.
Breakouts not a big deal for you? Don’t worry, there are medicine cabinet beauty tips for you too. You can try some vitamin E oil capsules cut open. Vitamin E can help those with cystic fibrosis, Alzheimer’s and sickle cell anemia. But, when you break these capsules open, you have an instant scar and wrinkle treatment. Vitamin E is present in most proven anti-aging creams because it is a wonderful topical healer.
Have you been looking for a gentler toner? You can use distilled witch hazel. Most of the time, expensive over-the-counter toners can really dry out your skin and may even cause redness. Diluted witch hazel works great when applied with a cotton ball. Witch hazel can be used for laryngitis and hemorrhoids. It can also be used as a wonderful beauty treatment.
As expected, you should always test out new treatments before using them full on. Anytime you are going to put something new on your face, you should be really careful. Put a small dab on the inside of your wrist or elbow. Leave it there for 24 hours. If no redness or irritation appears, then you are good to go.
So you should always be on the lookout for beauty bargains in different places. You will be surprised at what the contents of your kitchen or bathroom hold. You can now use these beauty tips to give yourself a great spa experience any day of the week in the privacy of your own home.
